SCENE BREAKDOWN
This is a real-life creature called an amphipod, which lives in the deep ocean and is sort of a glowing transparent shrimp - so transparent that you can actually see it's brains through it's skull. I first saw on a special stamp released by the Post Office and thought, "Wow, that's weird. Bet it would look even wierder out of the ocean." And this is the result. I added the front pincers just to make it look a little more aggro.
