SCENE BREAKDOWN

This is a NURBS character I built and rigged. I intentionally didn't create an upperbody for the character.

One thing I liked about the first "Alien" movie was that you never saw the creature until the very end of the movie. This made it even creepier because the audience's imagination was filling in the blanks. The horror genre is plagued by cheese because far too many stories throw their junk out right from the top, making it merely gorey, not scary.

I wanted people to look at the bottom half of this character with a giant scorpion-like spike tail, and think to themselves, "I wonder what the rest of him looks like?", but never actually answer that question. There's also volumetric lighting in the scene and a spinning wormhole exit.
